Second Stop, Philadelphia!

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania’s largest city, is notable for its rich history, on display at the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall (where the Declaration of Independence and Constitution were signed) and other American Revolutionary sites. Also iconic are the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, immortalized by Sylvester Stallone’s triumphant run in the film “Rocky.”

From Cleveland, OH to Philadelphia, PA

DEPART  9:20 am ⇒ ARRIVE  4:25 pm

June 5th, 2021

The drive from Cleveland to “Philly” wasn’t bad. Mainly because we messed up the reservations and didn’t schedule an RV park long enough for Philly. We had planned to catch our breath and spend most of our time in Philly doing regular work. Well, that didn’t go to plan, and we ended up camping in Harrisburg, PA, for the first half of our scheduled stay.

June 6th, 2021

When life gives you lemons, you make Lobsta! Phoummala (@exchangegoddes) and her lovely family hosted Melissa and I for her Twitter famous #SeaFoodSunday. I have to tell, you she undersold the whole thing. We got so full, I forgot to record a tech video.

Also, AgentP forgot to tell us that she is married to a legit expert in physical interconnects. So we ended up talking about 800Gbps and 1.6Tbps interconnects and the physical limits of connectors. It was a treat! I think I’m using that word correctly.

June 8th, 2021

We finally made our way to the Philly Metro area. Why didn’t you remind me about the tolls on the east coast? Jez! $5.00 a pop to cross the bridge? Wow. Just wow!

June 9th, 2021

I had a quick breakfast with Josh Bennett, where we talked about the impact of COVID-19 on egg farmers. Yeah, these are the types of random conversations that don’t happen over Zoom. The conversation led to the shortage of cloud systems at the start of the pandemic and how managed service providers are in a good place now to add value for public cloud customers.

June 10th, 2021

What a day! We had dinner with Ned1313 and his lovely family. Ned made Melissa and I homemade pasta, sauce, and baked Sourdough bread.

He broke down the meaning of Terraform 1.0 to me as well.
