com is a great way for me to get my name out there uh doing those every few years when I'm looking for a job it helps to be known as a blogger and for people to see your progression as a technologist over the years uh our first young gun Marcus Ramsey posted a piece on the gaming industry Marcus is a student at NIU which is about 50 60 miles uh roughly 50 60 maybe even 70 mil directly west of Chicago uh he's uh aspiring to enter the gaming industry and he wrote a pretty interesting post on where he sees the gaming industry today and how it's expanding the Young Guns uh program is actually a Outreach from something that's near dear to my heart which is growingup shy.
comom which is another blog that I run that's a little bit different from virtualized Geek somewhat of a different audience it's much more of a uh site that talks about social issues a lot of stories from my childhood about growing up Chicago So Young Guns is an outpouring of the effort behind growingup shy. com they have a great special running for 50 bucks basically 50 bucks a month all you can eat video training I've used them in a past to renew my CCNA so I figured I'd use their uh vpar 5 training module I'm using Scott Lo's mastering vpar 5 I wrote a uh wow feels like it's been about a year I got to check I wrote a review on that book about a year ago if you guys followed Scott L at all his blog uh amazing material very uh helpful uh most of the reviews that I've read uh about taking the vcp have referenced his book so I highly recommend it and then the last resource is my home lab uh I did a post a couple of weeks ago on Virtual versus physical lab I've chosen to go with a full Virtual Lab running on the VMware uh workstation 9 and then I basically remote while I'm on the road I remote into that lab and you know with a workstation with 32 gig of RAM there's not much in the BCP at least in a vcp road map that I that I can't do and of course I'm using vw's uh vcp uh blueprint which you really need to follow to uh limit the scope of what you study to just what's going to be on the exam so I hope to update you guys in a couple of weeks with hopefully saying that I passed the exam or I'll be spending the $250 more to take it one more time I'll take it until I'll pass it wish me luck if you guys want to learn more about virtualization cloud computing or Enterprise Tech in general I encourage you to visit my site www.
