The impostor syndrome

hi Keith Townsend from the sea to advisor calm with my vdm virtual design master 30 in 30 day one so I'm not going to write 30 blog post in 30 days I'm going to do 30 videos in 30 days feel tough because I have to come up with topics I have to edit the videos and they have to be compelling content however I didn't want to get a chance to talk about something that we started a conversation about on Twitter and continue it a little bit
more which is the impersonator syndrome I've talked to many people about this and this is basically the idea that if they create content somehow they'll be found out as a impersonator as someone impersonating to be a expert meaning that you're not you're creating content but yet you're not really I don't know what to say it you're not of the caliber to to be in the conversation and that's bit i know people know that that's kind of a ridiculous thought but it is a ridiculous thought most
people when they blog tweet create video content they're not coming off or they are not presenting themselves as an expert in technology really ever do i present myself as an expert in a topic this is me this video is me adding to the overall knowledge and contributing my voice to the conversation well some people not agree with my voice obviously and I think that's the anxiety I've had people say you know what on my youtube videos i've had people said hahahaha the experts are you laughing
at you you know what that that that that will make you feel a certain way that will make you i'm not gonna lie it's going to make you doubt yourself a little bit however you're brave enough to join the conversation there is no such thing i think as a person ater unless you're just coming off as you know kind of a know-it-all that's presenting information that you know you didn't that you did well research but if you're joining the conversation adding your opinion there's nothing wrong
with it I think the the great example of this was I did a blog post in which i call sdn vaporware from my vantage point it was vaporware if it was it what I wanted didn't exist a true expert in the field martine cocido had solved my blog post invited me out to lunch and went on to kind of correct my vision very humble guy a very kind and his rebuke of me but again I wasn't coming off as a as a impostor there was my
opinion and I was offering that as your my opinion there's absolutely nothing wrong with joining the conversation don't feel like an imposter it's still pretty early in the night you can even join the vdm 30 and 30 create 30 pieces of content and 30 days and a new month of November that's it for this late night or early evening depend where you at vdm 30 and 30 posts talk to you guys tomorrow
