hi Keith Towser from the CTO advisor calm with some same day feedback at least is postal the same day feedback from the hpe tech day event event where they bring in a bunch of bloggers industry experts to talk about their current product structure their immediate roadmap basically they amplify their message and sometimes I'll come out of these events are now I'll blog and other times I may not it depends on how interesting the message was today I have to say that message was interesting it was
more composable infrastructure which I've heard this message this is probably the third or fourth time either from a blogger perspective or a customer perspective that I've heard the message around composable in addition to composable was the message around there HCI solution I walked away with something that didn't expect I expected to come in learn that the details the nitty-gritty of their HD is solution based on their dl380 dl380 if you're HPE customary you know is kind of the bedrock of virtualized environments it's it's it's kind
of the jack of all space if you're a hyper-v or vm workshop synergy has been a little bit harder to explain is it a c7000 with some special software on it as a jest is it just the next blade chassis technology if it was just the latest blade chassis technology it would maybe be interesting but this combination of the ideal of composable infrastructure has kind of clarified to me while why HP from an engineering perspective hasn't been overly aggressive and coming out with a to you
ACI box to be the new tanukhs and simply a tease of the world the ACI solutions pretty interesting to know cluster $80,000 etc etc everything you expect ACI to be for what the basic use cases for traditional to you a CI I'm going to make the argument this energy is the true ACI solution here I walked away thinking if I'm a large-scale data center and I need to think about what my hybrid cloud or my hybrid infrastructure looks like it would look like about about what
hpe is preaching synergy and composable infrastructure is these fungible building blocks these chassis 'he's fully populated with 40 drives and i don't know a hunter so a couple of hundred cpu cores in which i can form logical physical holes to be carved up however I need them park Doug and then I can wreak impose them on the fly to be anything that I need it to be for example you know I think these things take roughly eight to twelve blaze speed you know I'm not a
species and fees guy but I can create a to you or miss artist a two core or two socket physical hosts and take memory and storage from different parts of that chassis and full carve up and make physical representations of servers that I need and then using their orchestration software I can compose that to be whatever I needed to be today can be exchange server tomorrow it can be a vmware host I've heard that message before why does it resonate today more soul than ever I
think because they put it alongside a CI and when you put it along ACI and ACI from this traditional 2u rack scale or web scale architecture that Newt annex and simply of tea and all of the traditional guys have been preaching you start to realize hey you know what yeah there's a place for a CI proper the to you version but when I what I'm talking about kind of rep scale or data center scale solutions I want my entire data center to be hyper convergence I
want it to be fun table I needed to be one thing one day and the next day I needed to be another one so that I can support hybrid cloud I don't know why it all just clicked for me today I think it's literally because they put the the HCI interface and that same message we've been hearing about a CI from vendors VDI Robo small sand replacement medium scale sand replacement etc that message is old the synergy message is in composable and the message is fairly
