com there's a lot of archived video and previous tech field day events such as network field day they have a wireless LAN field day as well as a virtualization field day a lot of deep technology a lot of basically it's a vendor walk where we get to talk to the creators it's really great software and systems really technical very deep if you're looking for mainly marketing material you're not going to find it for the most part at a tech field day event these are based on people who implement and have to support these technologies every day so as we stated we're going to investigate the vendor spring path which is a software play interesting concept you know everyone likes to use the term hyper converge or hyper convergence st.
no difference here they are a hyper converged play so to speak we can debate on whether or not they're specifically a service and technology versus a hyper converge play that offers a rapper or management wrapper around managing the entire infrastructure of a x86 deployment of storage and virtualization but again this is storage field day the focus is on storage and the way they're tackling kind of the problem or the problem that they're tackling is what they're categorizing is providing a data platform using their reference service model what they're calling halo the ability basically to service all of your data needs and your enterprise through one platform I pause for dramatic intent because whenever I hear one of these one size fit all plays where you you know whether you're servicing erp clients bare metal containers virtualization VDI different applications to the ideal the idea that you can service all of those needs with one platform raises a couple of concerns with me I really like their marketing material are like their approach to storage field day in general they are extremely proactive and reached out to kind of a Stephen and Stephen faucet who runs the tech field events and the team to really understand what we'll be looking for and what questions will have so they can tailor their presentation around it I'm really looking forward to it if you have the bandwidth I highly suggest that you tune in live from tech field a calm they'll live stream their session if you're on Twitter you can actually tweet me or one of the other delegates and we'll be more than happy to X questions of any one of the vendors if you have any questions for a spring path or anyone on the vendors in general feel free to put them in a comment session of this post or email me at keefe at virtualized geek calm and i'll make sure to include your question thanks we'll see you at tech field day
