[Music] hey how's it going to Steve's house I'm from the CTO of vitatree.com recapping sa P sapphire 2018 down in Orlando Florida hosted the cube got a chance to talk to awful lot of industry experts people are really movers and shakers in the industry what I wanted to get a sense of is where's sa P when it comes to cloud cloud native technologies you know sa P usually isn't mentioned in the same breath as topics such as CI CD or DevOps or any of the latest
and greatest buzzwords however si P drives the business 77 percent of the world's transactions are transacted sue s AP system so extremely important technology within the enterprise where is the cloud story you know what two or three years ago if I would have gone to an executive and said you know what we should consider Li seriously consider running sa P in a hyper scale cloud I probably would have got left out of their office this is something that small businesses do that can't afford the capex
of spinch of rolling out sa P it's not something that grown-up companies do well that story has changed quite a bit in the last three years even if you're going beyond the classic lifted shift scenario for most si P implementations in the cloud the ability to spend up workloads quickly for non prod is game-changing for most organizations I'm not exaggerating when I say that large organizations can spend two to three months two to three months just rolling out the infrastructure for non SI p or i'm
sorry for non product SI p projects this slows down the large enterprise and the cloud with automation from companies such as sous a Microsoft Google in AWS you can get a full net leader stack s AP upper running we're not talking talking about Hana up and running in just a half an hour or so or even if that time line was spending down to a week that is definitely worth the advantage the second point about cloud and sa P in the cloud that her consistently if
the ability to use cloud native services like tensorflow s3 storage machine learning applications natively with your s AP databases or your s AP datasets specifically Hana the ability to use in memory databases and comparing that with your data leaks based in this cloud drives what sa P is calling the intelligent business so a lot of stories a lot of value for s ap in the cloud I'd love to hear your journey are you talking about doing sa P in the cloud do you have questions about
