Riverbed Tech Field Day 15 Recap
Transcript
[Music] hey how's it one is chief Townsend from the CTO of Viacom with the continued recap of tech field day 15 yes we're all the way up to 15 of these events and a you know what a veteran presenter riverbed came and I was a little River man is a little bit like Cisco really big company smaller than Cisco but still big company I think they have a total of 55 offices around the world sold not a small company so coming in you're not sure what
product or what features of a product they're going to talk about but riverbed really brought it we were impressed as delegates with the overall technology the I think the thing that stood out for me the most is still case still case if you're not familiar with it it's about projecting vm's onto a remote site in the past we've used this to do projection of thousands file servers Active Directory servers basically things that are well-known easy to manage not really overly sensitive to latency now still case
is starting to push the envelope a little bit on the use cases are starting to get into more business line applications so the ideal of eventually taking something like a.s.a.p or like a ASAP ECC application server and presenting it to a remote site to reduce the latency required to process transactions and all the backend database connectivity that's needed we threw a lot of curveballs to riverbed on different scenarios and use cases the video is well worth watching I suggest you go over to the tech field
day site go to events and then follow the thread to the tech field day 15 you can find all of the riverbed videos and the discus which is pretty good over at the site until then we'll catch you next CTO video continue the the track we were we're tackling some pretty tough questions coming up on a couple of vendors that might be a little bit controversial such as data core talk to you guys next video
