Nutanix and HPE tackling the Cloud Control Plane

[Music] hey how's it going to skew Hauser from the CTO advisor with today's CTO daily dose so we're coming fresh off of Nutanix next and nice why was that kind of all go last week Nutanix was after European conference going on and you know I'm gonna pick apart not necessarily a lot of the announcements from unit annex next the new TEDx is doing great work from call my oh they demonstrated I a lot of great features are coming out of Nutanix they finally have supported NFS
native they're finally supporting NFS native out of there AFS file system as well as object storage very good progress from just a technology innovation perspective but I think one of the the key themes that came out of Nutanix is when they demoed the zai X I product this is something that I've been talking about quite some time when it comes to the hybrid cloud control plane this is where the battle was is for the next few years both Nutanix and HPE have said that it's going
to take some years for them to mature their cloud control plane to the point where they can truly broker and manage enterprise cloud options from a single pane of glass version which is I think the ultimate goal for any enterprise infrastructure company and I think this is what mechanics generally needs to do and not just new tenants HPE to be as well to be considered cloud companies Dale EMC has played around with their hybrid cloud platform which was kind of a bri branding of some cloud
brokerage stuff not what i would really call a hybrid cloud control plane but when it comes to thought leadership and getting out there from the major enterprise IT vendors Nutanix HPE has been have been leading the way when it comes to vision this idea that there's a single broker that IT team to manage their broker services between the major cloud providers the private data center and the developer so whether you're creating next-gen what Mechanics label to applications VMware called cloud native applications whatever the case developers
can go to a single API or portal select the cloud infrastructure they want to run their solution on or allow the data center operator to select the cloud that best suits the application and you abstract away the complexity of multi cloud this is an extremely aggressive vision and it takes years to mature Nutanix and HPE with their new stack or what they're calling I think now their hybrid infrastructure new stack solutions are mainly I think they're very much alpha mold but this is something I'm very
