Introducing nVidia Base Command Platform

Second conversation that we're having with Tony Paikeday, senior director of AI systems at NVIDIA. Thank you NetApp for sponsoring this content. Tony, so we're going to get right to it. I want to do some big A AI. Conversational AI that requires something that's probably bigger than what I can get into public cloud where it's perfect for a hot dog, not hot dog.
However, the SuperPOD way too big for me. I can't deploy it in my data center. I need a different solution. How was NVIDIA and NetApp solving that problem for me? >> Yeah, you've described the classical problem that affects a lot of businesses where they need to build next gen AI capability like natural language processing for, for instance, chatbots or other capabilities, but they lack the infrastructure. Traditional infrastructure approaches might take months and months. With SuperPOD, we've shrunk that down to as little as three weeks, but still that's a very tough hurdle for some businesses.
So what we've been working on with NetApp is how to democratize supercomputing infrastructure built on SuperPOD and NetApp data storage such that any enterprise can take advantage of it. We call it NVIDIA Base Command Platform. So, it's this new offering where we've stood up a SuperPOD solution combined with NetApp that now any organization can come and get access to on a subscription basis. So, we've really lowered the bar for being able to access what would otherwise be unattainable for many who know they need supercomputing power, but can't get there on their own.
>> So when is this available? >> It's actually available right now. We just announced general availability of it. So, now enterprises can come and kick the tires or get a longer-term experience with it for their developers.
