when should you start looking at it infrastructure cost to save money in your overall it budget or application or Project Life Cycle there is absolutely a point where it infrastructure cost specifically hard cost around storage compute networking whether that's in the public Cloud private data center makes a difference to your it budget i' argue that it's rarely at the start of a given Innovation cycle at the beginning of the of an innovation cycle usually especially in the day of modern Cloud your biggest cost is usually
in development training implementation the business side of the Innovation as your projects mature there's kind of a a curve where you become Twitter or these Hello type companies that show that you can save significant cost around infrastructure when you either move to the public cloud away from the public cloud from One Cloud technology to a different Cloud technology but that curve is very different the rate of spend has slowed you're not spending money on developers so this is a relative cost conversation I commonly make the
argument if you're looking in a $12 million project where infrastructure is a million dollars of the cost and you're looking to save 20% you're probably looking in the wrong area to say you're going to save 20 30% in your infrastructure cost you should look at some of those other hard costs associated with deploying and developing your application you want to learn more follow me on the web the CTO visor.com h
