IBM purchase of Red Hat

[Music] hey how's it going this Keith Towson from the CTO of Viacom with a CTO dose talking about the IBM acquisition of red head what does that mean for the industry a large well 37 billion dollar thirty four billion dollars however you want to call it it's not a small acquisition only acquisitions from a software perspective that's bigger we can compare that maybe to the dáil purchase of EMC and dust VMware my employer is huge from a just pure transaction perspective but what does that mean
for the cloud industry at large well iBM has struggled even with partnerships with VMware there OpenStack efforts iBM has struggled to get into the conversation with cloud Red Hat while not considered traditionally a cloud company has always been very integral to the cloud conversation with their Red Hat Linux distribution and more recently with open shift their play for software development and as well as multi cloud this is a great opportunity for IBM to get involved in a multi cloud hybrid cloud conversation to renew energy to
get a little bit of culture change not just a change in product portfolio but a change in just the the DNA of IBM practically what does it mean you know what is to be determined red hat wasn't exactly leading the industry in multi-cloud great technology but by itself red hat wasn't considered a leader in cloud computing maybe this is a instance where one plus one equals more than three and the possibility of combining both Red Hat and IBM will be disruptive at least for IBM and
