hi Keith Townsend from the sea to a visor calm day two of virtual design masters medium 30 and 30 wow this is going to be a tough one because I'm just learning in New York when it grab something to eat is almost eleven o'clock eastern but I wanted to make sure I get in all 30 videos we are going to talk about careers a little bit tonight it's specifically chasing titles I think a great follow-up to the V brown bag talk that I did talking about
the path to architect what I see a lot and keep occurs it I've made this mistake before my career where I became a network manager and I kind of chased that management title versus having a natural ebb and flow to my career the overall experience was great getting the experience becoming a manager but networking isn't exactly my passion or my strong points so tonight's the count of VD m1330 video is just a cautionary tale and when you're mapping out your career it's great to say ok
I want to pick up specific skills if one of those skills our management you know go ahead and do that if another one is engineering I took those Academy I wouldn't say a detour but I relocated to Maryland to Lockheed Martin so that I can master the engineering discipline then I went and took a role with pwc so that I could gain some non technical business critical skills so it's fine to chase steel but don't teach it a title I've seen this in the architect role
where people will love who loved engineering will leave the engineering discipline and become an architect just to find out they don't like the attributes of being a architect so just you know quick meal warning if you're running career path if you get a job opportunity make sure that you're not chasing a title but that opportunity melds well with your career path your career goals that's it talk to you guys next week I'm going to enjoy a nice new york-style Reuben sandwich catch guys tomorrow
