hi Keith Townsend from the CT advisor calm with a quick first impressions of dil e MC world the first dale emc world traditionally this has been labeled dale world so first opportunity for Dale to present a foot forward or that first view of the combined companies only six weeks after the murder what was going to be the tone of the conference so Dell world the previous incarnation wasn't really known much as an enterprise conference Dale most definitely has enterprise chops but wasn't a huge competitor to

the likes of HP e or even an emc therefore they'll roll was not one of my usual stops obviously with the purchase of EMC has changed everything so I most definitely took Sara Vela up on her offer to host me over in Austin for Dell world so what did I think well first off the branding dell has done a tremendous job of making Dale and EMC looked like one thing from the outside so when you talk to all the dell executives even Michael Dell i mentioned

that I'd be coming to Dale world and he quickly corrected me I said Dale emc world that just permeated throughout the whole conference not just a conference we're not running to se sales folks on the ground they are all in on this Dale EMC brand so Dale has done a wonderful job of least presenting dell at emc as one unified company now the conference itself the conference itself was DMC most definitely the emc legacy company had a tremendous presence within the conference however it still felt

a little disjointed you had the desktop group you had the EMC traditional storage arrays you even had an intermingling of Dale infrastructure which is the dell in emc brands together with phone within the same show floor but it's only been seven weeks and I felt that throughout the conference it still didn't feel like a emc world or vmworld from an enterprise perspective dale has some work to do when it comes I'm sorry Dale EMC has some work to do when it comes to that I'm looking

forward to Dale emc world and made that conference that had ventured traditionally emc world and bringing in that Dale Brandon to that and having that enterprise flavor quickly one other topic I was really happy to see I felt Dale emc world to be one of the most diverse conferences that I've been to normally you know I joked I can go to a technology conference say hey I'm the tall black bearded guy ball builder bearded guy and people would know it was me I was by far

not the only one so I was encouraged to see the different women attack as well as the different black minorities and check in tech in the Dell conference I don't know if this is part of that SMB space that Dale kind of dominated and brought into this enterprise space either way I'm excited to see if that carries over into del emc world in vegas in may that's it for this CT advisor quick plug for the podcast less podcast was with tyler britain of IBM SoftLayer and

we talk through how hybrid cloud is actually fool's gold extremely compelling conversation suggest you go looking at it at it is the CTO advisor com4 / podcasts to find a podcast talk to you guys next CTO visor chat
