[Music] so it's keith townsend principal the cto advisor and you're watching the cto dose from the road we're outside of houston texas specifically in galveston island right next to the gulf of mexico and what better place to talk about what's happening in the news with cloudflare flaring up against aws about egress charges why is this important and what does this have to do with the golf well obviously there's a bunch of energy companies in the area and they have this challenge of where data is processed
where it's ingested or where the data is collected where it's ingested and where it's processed and egress charges is a major consideration earlier in the week i tweeted out that network engineers will always have a job may not be about typing on the cli and configuring vlans but it will be about optimizing costs when it comes to egress charges against your on-premises solutions aka your uh energy devices collecting data off of the systems and where to ingest that data and where to process that data i
