Transcript
hey how's it going - Steve Townsend from the CTO of Viacom and you're watching today's CTO daily dose tech field day 15 is just a few days away I travel out money to join Steve Fossett and the tech field day crew to partake I think in my fifth tech field day if you're not familiar with tech field day I like to call it a a geek vendor pub crawl twelve IT influencers from the industry people that you know love mark me my co-host on the c2
advisor how it marks from deep Storch net and a bunch of other influencers slash bloggers converge on Silicon Valley to basically go through about seven presentations of about two hours in length talking about deep technical issues problems solutions to those issues and problems with the vendors that create the the technology we're not talking about market tech chure or not jazz market tech chure there's going to be some architecture but there's also just a lot of deep conversation deep technical conversation frankly that sometimes goes over my
head I need the Howard Marks and the mark maze of the world to kind of explain some of these technologies to me so that I can bring that back to you basic question of how do you become a tech field a delegate is there something that you can pay your way into do you is there some secret Club that you need to be a member of to become a tech field a delegate actually it's not that complicated the process is that you basically share your opinion
whether you're following the tech field a hash tag hash tag tfd 15 on Twitter or Facebook you're watching the live videos and and just engaging in the conversation you go back to YouTube you share your thoughts on the YouTube videos or you go back to LinkedIn and you just share a post on what you thought of the technology and whether you believe it well you don't you just want to share the technical details with your community us the community that's the starting point to becoming ATF
d15 presenter or I'm sorry not presenter but delegate is this is not you know really difficult it's helped my career tremendously I've III owe a great a bit of gratitude to Stephen Fosgate and the team for helping elevate my presence within the community but it's based off of the work of me contributing to the community you don't have to do these tech videos if you don't want to you could you could grab your iPhone make a quick video and talk about one of the presenters and
tagging them one Twitter or YouTube or Facebook and just get part of the conversation your opinion is valuable if you thought it then chances are there's other people either agree with you disagree with you or just want your insight so this is a plea join the tech field day delegate veteran community and be part of the conversation really look forward to engaging with you guys next week and hopefully sharing some great content as a result of the presentations Totti guys next CTO daily dose hopefully from
