hi Steve Towson from the sea to adviser calm with a Monday morning coffee chat you know i'm going to try something a little bit different i'm going to do and in case you missed it pretty busy social media weekend this weekend has some really interesting conversations with the likes of oh man eric at disco posse online my good friend from the registry k keys or better known as trevor on the twitters it's always fun to have a conversation with trevor and what we talked about was
basically OpenStack api's software-defined data center containers etc etc basically this concept that we're moving away from OpenStack as being the holy grail of infrastructure as a service and we're starting to move more into this world of containers and what I'm not containers is the end all the be all well we all agree and none of us think that containers is the and all the be all that a balanced infrastructure will include containers VIMS and platform as a service is how do you mail these worlds together
and what I'm really interesting continue the conversation is what does that look like from a overall arching management perspective you even with this I think abstraction of the data center and we're we're no longer relying on hardware specifically to provide all the capability of the data center there's this push from most enterprise vendors to offer one-size-fits-all or a single pane of glass you know we'll hear from vmware with that software-defined data center strategy even in tell a little bit with their software-defined infrastructure or cisco with
their UCS platform about basically what equates to one API to rule them all on one consistent API to rule the mall I don't know if we're every get there you know a good teasing or conversation that I'll have on the podcast over the next couple of weeks will be is the desire or the need in infrastructure is to have a one-size-fits-all API and have a single API to the data center or is the need to have just open api's and the ability to have those api's
