hi this is Keith Townson from virtualized geek.com today is June the 4th uh Tuesday you're actually if you're uh tuning in you're Miss you're wondering why did we miss a week well Memorial Day uh last Monday um here in the US so I took the week off and decided not to record a video which means that I have a ton of stuff to talk about today but we'll try and keep the video relatively short and uh I won't hit all the topics um since today the
is the 4th you missed the news on the 28th that I'm now a vmw V expert if you guys remember earlier blog post and videos I actually debated on whether or not to apply for the vmw VX per program and I'm pretty happy that I did uh we got a couple of uh pretty good uh French benefits uh the folks over at VH gave us a year of their backup not for resale backup licensing Trinity gave us uh polo shirts with our Twitter handle and V
expert logo on it and uh the one thing that I'm mostly excited about is the folks over at train signal which I've talked about on the blog before gave us one year of unlimited train signal training which is actually pretty cool uh I'm I was already a train signal customer and paying the $49 a month for the unlimited training so I thought that was a pretty good um value so to get it for free uh is really a big deal and I'm really uh appreciative of
the gure and the support the train signal has given the V expert Community uh so what does the V expert designation mean for virtualized Geek other than adding the acronym behind my uh name in some instances on Twitter and uh I don't think I posted it posted uh any kind of permanent designation on the blog you shouldn't notice much in the form of V expert branding or VMware specific branding but uh I will uh get access to some beta software and previews uh for V expert
Community um at VM world this this year I'm planning on attending uh should get some type of a either special uh area or a spot for live blogging so hopefully the quality or the speed of information coming from VMware specifically to the blog uh for you guys you should see some differences in um in that activity outside of the V expert um uh stuff the other things that's been going on is I have a pretty interesting uh blog post coming up on techtarget.com are uh spe
specifically Tech T Tech Target I'm sorry it's search sdn.bhd data center Microsoft calls it the cloud uh the cloud-based data center but it all RS to be the same where network storage and compute pretty much gets controlled by software and defined at the software layer uh more importantly uh there's Solutions now that's coming to the market uh vce was a kind of uh proof concept architecture that bought a convert Network and compute and storage platform to you to new I believe it's pronounced N tranic is
a new solution or relatively new solution it's get guess a little bit over a year old that actually uh goes for step further and gives you modular boxes to put in your racks that contain uh CPU storage and networking you can stack these things to really give you a conver Ed environment uh what does that mean for the engineer uh I personally believe that means that the engineer needs to become a lot more well-versed or well-rounded uh that potentially uh engineer needs to be able to
Deep dive one or two of those three areas but most definitely know uh a bit about those three different areas so the article over on Tech Target that should be posted in the next day or two if you're listening to this uh on the uh fifth or sixth you can go over to uh search sn.com and the post should uh be posted by now otherwise uh it should be posted in the next couple of days uh it really I thought uh brought up pretty good uh
