m. work yeah interviewing for the sales academy a position that they have down in Austin Texas starts next week next year in July so sells Academy look what is that exactly it's like this this is like a university school is it - so it's like a VM wears a version of a university kind of going in and giving you an overview and teaching you about the products finding what your niche is within what they have to offer and grow in that position into a inside sales position so what I mean your words isn't it Cincinnati has a lot of Fortune 500 companies you have a lot of different industries that you continue to go into you know miss teevan can talk all day about nsx and the power and micro segmentation and how that brings to you what specifically about this community drove them into the desire to work for a company like me so I've been very technology-based my entire life like going into it I've always been intrigued and interested in everything in technology I'm actually I've been a full-time student in college that worked in 30 40 hours a week well taking 15 18 credit hours on top of that I've been the executive on the Executive Board of the sales leadership Club at the University of Cincinnati and competing in competitions for the Salesforce a team to really improve my skills but knowing the intensity and the extent of this not just this community but VMware in general I wanted to get put in the door with a very technical school advance company like surrounding data data pipelines everything like that and get myself more knowledgeable of maybe close to the VMware more knowledgeable of data engineering data science and everything like that so I actually worked for a year and a half to build up my resume and persistent and getting it a job to where I work now an astronomer where we help provide pre-engineered data find myself getting analytics from one source of destination to another safely and securely kind of helping to build off of that - hopefully willing to be M where one day so see let's talk about some excitement going on it being worse because if me relative aches so viewers built the in FX Tizen which to be incredibly large I remember just a couple short years ago there was only a handful of maybe four or five guys that cover the entire nation what is your kind of geographic region for covering innocent yeah is that yes oh so he's right now to cover with Ohio Valley mm-hmm so I'm a commercial rep so we've got healthcare enterprise commercial and it's led its then well so our federal group and so I have roughly seven states so for Western PA Ohio Michigan Indiana Kentucky and Western Teresina so from the and as I mentioned before this awful lot of 4500 people don't really get a pretty good indication that you think of Cincinnati you take it like the central Kentucky Ohio in this area is the Burton's good bourbon stream but from a business perspective fortune 500 health care in insurance agencies writes out of this region what's the excitement around in Essex is it mainly for microsegmentation ring is it for Network automation yeah so mostly what we're seeing is initially in one of the biggest use cases for NSX we took in the market surrounded micro segmentation what I'm seeing more Moore's that any customers any type of disaster recovery requirements or needs what I'm seeing now is more than application continuity so that now it's active active so that customers don't have to really work loads maintain this changes enough to work load moves one data center to the other okay so the making basically the data center crota boxes the data center poor soul it doesn't matter where your data centers that we've heard this medicine at VMware that it could be AWS one of the BMC cloud there was a warm creme the concept of your network is no lower or barrier and now enabler to moving your data center that's correct one of the things we've seen to is it now allows customers to sit one security policy so regardless of where that workload sites that you have one policy in effect yeah the security across multiple plows is most definitely problems how AWS does microsegmentation versus Houser does it versus how our X phase co-located cloud does it it's completely different NSX I'd like to call it cloud blue it'll give you the ability to move your security operations from one solution to another so as awesome is gone into his interview as with any advice to him category it's definitely before the competition I'm really encouraging to really try to align with a networking security business unit not just because I've been the business unit but I honestly think that that's where I see tremendous growth you know happening in there so ami Dom Delfino if you're listening Austin's a great kid ally how you can tweet this video to give you kind of an unofficial plot until then do you guys have social media presence and so on that people can follow you follow me at route packets I like that package very active on Linkedin it's just Austin Frye last night about fre ey alright and you can follow me of course on the web the CTO advisors I can't wait you can subscribe to the podcast and see these CTO daily dose videos in one setting or on YouTube and of course you can subscribe to me on twitter follow me on twitter at CTO advisor talk to you guys next CTO daily dose
