Cisco Tech Field Day 15 Session Recap

[Music] hey how's it gonna ski thousand from the sea to a visor calm with a special review of tech field day 15 held in beautiful San Jose San Francisco during the SEP week of September 27 so we had a bout I think 7 presenters 11 delegates pretty robust conference the first up on review is the first presenting Cisco Systems so it's a bit of surprise of what Cisco is going to present they're a huge organization with fingers and cloud computing traditional networking security containers software-defined networking
a lot going on so you kind of walk in with an expectation of not knowing what's going to be presented that day which can't put the delegates at a bit of a disadvantage Cisco's first presentation was on Cisco's ACI and their intent based networking combined with kubernetes I think a little bit of the message was lost because we weren't prepared to necessarily discuss a CI a CI by itself is a big topic so I personally get lost a lot in the Cisco acronym such as endpoint
groups etc such a very Cisco ACI specific lingo that I get honestly lost with at times then they present it on service providers and a little bit more generic terms around open networking and a lot of the solutions they're engaging the community with I was really impressed by Siskel's approach to community when it comes to open networking specifically open config up kind of figuring out well what's the angle how are you selling selling more Cisco year with this solution and it wasn't just about selling more
Cisco gear Cisco made a statement that I don't know if I've ever heard them make which is that it was more about the customer than it was about selling specific Cisco gear and doing what's right about the customer so open config really interesting set of technologies open source technologies and integrates well I think what Cisco's overall service provider offerings that's it for this recap if you want though here in detail and the questions we had as delegates visit the event site tech field a.com for slash
