Allowing tech companies to talk to end users
Transcript
hey how's he going to keep Townsend from the CTO advisor DICOM with another CTO dose you know I've been thinking about this for the past few days how much access should you allow your IT vendor to your business user got into interesting conversation with a potential customer and the ideal was you know what Keef don't go and talk to my business users directly this is something when I ran an IT shop I didn't mind vendors going to go talk to business users directly especially if it
if I felt like I could get a better business outcome as a result so for example I ran a IT shop for a company that created crash barriers our model was that we save lives if you ran into one of these cash crash barriers instead of running into a divider that could literally save the life of you and your family so if Cisco could help make my company more efficient and as a result save more lives I didn't mind them having that conversation I think this
is a sensitive area because IT leaders don't want to lose control of their IT domains so they are resistant to having vendors come in quote-unquote at value via having these conversations directly with end users I won't love to hear your feedback IT vendors have these conversations with end users or should I tea regulate these conversations so that they can properly control cost and risk associated with technology share your thoughts on the web at CTL visor on Twitter and again you can look me up on LinkedIn
